LAUP has announced the appointment of Celia C. Ayala, Ph.D., as its new Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Ayala previously served as chief operating officer and Interim CEO of LAUP.

 
 
 
 
 
LAUP - County Collaborate to Combat Childhood Obesity

In an effort to combat early childhood obesity, a collaboration between Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) will expand physical activity and promote healthful eating among preschool children throughout the county. Once completed, this initiative could benefit more than 10,000 youngsters countywide.

The Teacher Institute at LAUP has been a great success, with more than 200 LAUP Lead Teachers involved in the three-day professional development series focused on improving Instructional Practices.

 
 
 
 
 
Supporters of Early Education Show Up in Large Numbers at Dodgers Game

More than 2,000 supporters of early education attended LAUP's "Dodgers Day" on Sunday, June 13 at Dodger Stadium, where they enjoyed an exciting game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim while making a difference in the lives of many children.
