What's Up @ LAUP will take a brief summer hiatus and will resume distribution on July 12.

LAUP has announced the selection of six outstanding educators as recipients of the prestigious "Los Angeles County Preschool Teacher of the Year Awards," for going above and beyond the call of duty to better prepare students for school and life.

LAUP parent ambassadors who spent many months developing their advocacy skills to ensure the best education for their child and increased access to preschool for all children attended a special event in their honor on May 22.

The Central City Association (CCA), representing Downtown Los Angeles business leaders, recently hosted a discussion on the topic of education, and stressed the need for preschools to prepare children for school and beyond.

LAUP has launched its Enrollment Challenge 2010 among its preschool providers, which aims to achieve a 95 percent student enrollment per session at each participating preschool as a way of maximizing classroom usage.
