    Los Angeles, CA – LAUP Board Chair David Crippens has announced that Scott Hippert will become the next CEO of LAUP, succeeding Dr. Celia C. Ayala effective August 29, 2016. Hippert currently serves as the president and CEO of Parents as Teachers, a nationally recognized voice for early childhood education with headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

    LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) will launch seven free early education workshops during the Week of the Young Child. 

    LAUP, a nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of quality early learning and the development of the whole child, is providing workshops free to parents and educators throughout Los Angeles County. The workshops cover a variety of topics that are designed to help the parents and educators of children 0 to 5 years old.
    Los Angeles, CA – LAUP Board Chair David Crippens has announced the planned retirement of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Celia C. Ayala from her current position effective June 2016. Dr. Ayala will continue to serve as an advisor to LAUP when she retires next summer. Until then, she will be working closely with the LAUP Board and Cabinet members to ensure that the transition process is a smooth one for both LAUP and their providers and partners.    More

    The City of Los Angeles Workforce Development Board and Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) are presenting a summit that examines the intersecting lines between the early care and education field and Los Angeles County’s broader workforce development strategies.
    Los Angeles, CA — The early care and education nonprofit Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) was heartened by the news that early learning gained some ground in the California state budget today.

    Dr. Celia C. Ayala, CEO of LAUP, said the state’s commitment of $265 million for early care and learning programs is a “tremendous leap in the right direction for our youngest learners.”
