    Scott Hippert is a highly respected nonprofit leader with a successful track record of creating and strengthening initiatives for the youngest generation of Americans so that they will be successful in school and life. He brings to LAUP more than a decade of experience in managing early childhood initiatives and public policy advocacy – at the regional, state and national levels. His experience leading nonprofits and large-scale initiatives spans several decades. Scott previously served as the President and CEO of Parents as Teachers, a nationally recognized voice for early childhood education with headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

    Los Angeles Universal Preschool partners with the Dodgers to fund quality preschool for Los Angeles County children.  

    Today Governor Brown released the May Revision to his proposal for the California 2015-16 state budget. Despite the $6.7 billion growth in revenue that includes $5.5 billion in Proposition 98 funds, which support preK-14 education, the governor’s proposal includes only minimal increases for young learners from birth to age 5.
    Most everyone agrees that every child has a right to a quality early start in life. Yet, we look around our country and see that there are too many cities, states and rural areas where children do not have access to quality early care and education. The problem has always been a financial one: from facilities to assessements to teacher compensation, quality early care and education costs.   More
